point standings for 2003

Here's where we stood, observations of our 2nd season.

In the end the top 20 race finishes will determine the winners and position they will finish in. We will update the points each and every time 600 racing changes the imput on their website. National INEX points come from Friday night races and Saturday Bullring events including the Bandoleros. Track points are calculated for Saturday races only.

Update: Kyle has reached the 20 race limit, with only two cars competing in his "young Guns" division, the field is filled with Ghost drivers. So the most Kyle can receive is points for 4th or 5th, or 91 or 88 points per race. The higher meaning he has to be ahead of his division competitor Jonathan Mawhinney, who has been lightning fast all season. In other parts of the country there are larger fields and there the drivers are getting the full 100 points etc, so obviously Kyle is falling back in the points Nationally. The INEX season ends in September 21st, 2003.

The Bullring points are track points and will be posted on the tuesday after he had a race.

September 13.

The championship race is over, we came in second. We ran one great weekend at the end of August, and then a heavy contact accident took out Jonathan Mawhinney and Kyle Huender in the first lap of the September 6th race. We had to go to our back up car, as damage was too great to fix in a week. The final race of the season was also a nationals qualifyer, and we had visitors..top contenders, and champions of California, texas and New Mexico, to battle us. With our back up we had a good engine, and were fast but lacked a good set up which made us loose and pushing. We ran two heats, we finished fourth, and in the main we came in 8th. We held on to the runner up spot in the championship. All in all a great season, we learned a lot, and we were competetive, and won 8 races...not bad.
Next is the Road Course season in december.

August 17th 2003,

We have had trouble with the lockwashers staying put on the axle, and the axle must have shifted and put a strain on the chain. The masterlink came of the chain as Kyle was ready to go on the track for the main feature on August 16th, there was not enough time to put it back on, and we were unable to take the Green flag...it really has narrowed the championship race.

August 11, 2003.

The points race is really getting close, After Kyle's 2 wins, suddenly things went bad, with two wrecks that hurt the chances of good finishes. The incident with Sarah and the visit of the Murphy's to the Bullring, not only stretched the points awarded, but Broc Murphy took Kyle out in Turn two, while fighting for second. Kyle was able to struggle a hurt car around the track but made things worse went he and Brandon Oxborrow got together. Let hope we have the bad luck behind us, and see some good runs in the last four races for the Bullring Championship.

INEX POINTS RACE 2003
Final standings

as of 7/6/03  Kyle is no longer first as he has reached the 20 races that count towards the championship. With only two Young Lion drivers racing at the Bullring, the points are minor 91 or 88 points. As the twop three positions are filled by "Ghostdrivers". Those driving in bigger divisions get full points and therefore benefit in the point standings when the top 20 races are counted.
